What is required for your initial appointment with Virginia Beach Medical Cannabis Clinic?
I have never been diagnosed with PTSD, is this something that can be done during the consultation?
Yes. PTSD is an anxiety disorder that can develop after an individual experiences or witnesses a traumatic event. The traumatic event can be re-experienced as: unwanted thoughts, nightmares, flashbacks, hypervigilance, physical symptoms, avoidance, severe anxiety etc. Prior to your appointment you will fill out paperwork regarding your history. The provider will review the paperwork with you during your appointment and can then make recommendations for treatment.
I had my appointment with Virginia Beach Medial Cannabis Clinic, whats next?
As of July 1, 2022, you will no longer need to register with the State Board of Pharmacy. You will only need a current, unexpired medical certificate and picture ID to access the dispensaries.
I have my card, where do I get my medical cannabis products?
Once a patient or caregiver is registered with the Virginia Medical Marijuana program, they can visit any of the dispensaries located in Virginia. As a registered patient with a Medical Marijuana Card you are able to visit any of the Virginia Medical Dispensaries. Each dispensary grows, cultivates, extracts, dispenses, and delivers the medical cannabis all at the same location.
How do I choose a dispensary?
Your dispensary should feel welcoming and have a knowledgeable staff. They should make you feel comfortable with discussing your options for treatment. You should not feel rushed. The dispensary should have a variety of cannabis strains available that are legal in your state. They should have a variety of products as well as a variety of forms (edibles, oral, liquid, oil, topical, etc.) of those products.

Cannabis, also known as marijuana is a psychoactive drug from the Cannabis plant used primarily for medical and recreational purposes. It is a flowering plant originally from central Asia/India. There are two types of known cannabinoids (chemicals in the plant that produce mental and physical effects on the body). The two most common cannabinoids are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). THC is the primary psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis. While it has been shown to have medical benefits (analgesic properties, muscle relaxant features, anti-inflammatory effects) it is most commonly used for anxiety, depression, insomnia and mood instabilities. CBD is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis used mostly for inflammation and mechanical pain. CBD is known to counter the psychoactive effects ("high") of THC.
